Mock Paper D1/M2 exam
We’re organising a Mock Paper D1 (M2) exam this year too!
The Fillun Mock Paper D exam was very popular in the previous years, as it gave a great opportunity for candidates to test their knowledge a few weeks before the exam, under time pressure. Last year, I even anticipated the Rule 56a question in the exam, so candidates were really happy they could revise that topic before the exam. 🤓
Three people are testing the mock exam before it takes place, to avoid any mistakes, unclear or confusing statements.
Suitable for M2 candidates preparing for the 2026 exam
The M2 exam in 2026 will comprise the first five questions of Paper D1. This mock exam is therefore an ideal opportunity for M2 candidates to test their knowledge and timing under realistic exam conditions and to identify gaps well before the real exam.
M2 candidates are free to leave at 12:45 (CET) but are also welcome to stay for all the 6 questions.
How does the Mock exam work?
Date: Sunday, 15 February 2026
Schedule:
9:30-11:00 (CET): D1-1 part (3 questions)
11:30-13:30 (CET): D1-2 part (3 questions)
Format: Live via Zoom
By purchasing this product, you will get:
a Zoom invitation by email a few days before the exam;
the exam questions in PDF via Zoom chat at the start of each part;
the answers (after the mock exam) by email for self-correction.
During the mock exam, you will have to answer the questions on your own computer using any text editor, under strict time pressure.

Exam content
The mock exam is testing important and frequently tested legal topics, i.e. the EPC, PCT and Unitary patents. I also made sure to include a few recently changed topics.
6 questions in total
2 completely new questions drafted by me
4 questions based on past Paper D1 questions (2009, 2013, 2015), updated and modified (e.g. few details changed, subquestions added, etc.)
Same structure as Paper D1 (2026):
D1-1: 3 questions (25 marks)
D1-2: 3 questions (33 marks)
The “today’s date” in all questions is 3 March 2026 (your real exam date)
If you attended the Fillun Mock Paper D1 in 2025, please note that two questions are reused (with updated dates).
