Topic: 2012 Paper C, 2021 Paper C and 2023 Paper C

Dates, study plan:

  • 21 November, Friday (18:30-21:30 CET) - Paper C methodology

  • 23 November, Sunday (10:00-17:00 CET) - 2012 Paper C (solving together, step-by-step with focus on Novelty and Inventive Step)

  • 14 December, Sunday (10:00-17:00 CET) - 2021 Paper C (solving together, step-by-step with focus on definitions, effective dates and non-patent literature)

  • Homework for the winter break: 2023 Paper C, to be sent for correction by 31 December

  • 18 January, Sunday (10:00-16:00 CET) - discussion of 2023 Paper C (after everyone has received the correction)

We are doing everything we can to help you pass the last Paper C exam in 2026! So, after my Paper C group has been fully booked in July, I have organised another Paper C study group, your tutor will be Riccardo Bellingacci, a Munich based European patent attorney. Rick passed all 4 EQE main exams in 2021 for first try, with very good results, in WISEflow. His Paper C study groups were very popular in the last 3 years!

We made sure to include a recent exam in the study plan to practice the COMVIK approach. Furthermore, for the first time ever, this Paper C course includes the correction of your homework paper (2023 Paper C) by your tutor, Rick.

The program includes four meetings and the discussion of three Paper C exams (2012, 2021 and 2023) with a small group of candidates. The meetings will be online and outside work hours so that you don’t need to take time off and can join from anywhere. The course will finish in mid-January 2026 so that you will still have enough time to practice the methodology and past Paper C exams on your own.

As always, our goal is to create a friendly and supportive learning environment, where EQE candidates work through past Paper C exams together, step-by-step. Your friendly and knowledgeable tutor will make sure to answer all your questions.

Riccardo’s Paper C course includes:

  • 4 online group meetings with Riccardo Bellingacci:

    • An introductory session to discuss the basics of Paper C and possible methodologies, including Riccardo’s Paper C methodology;

    • Doing and discussing 3 previous C exams (2012, 2021 and 2023);

  • The correction of your 2023 Paper C exam;

  • Answering all your Paper C related questions during the meetings.

The end times are approximate. The length of the meetings will depend on how much time you need to discuss the exam. Riccardo’s goal is to explain everything well and answer all your questions.

Riccardo is both very smart and a lot of fun, so attending his study group will definitely make your Paper C preparation more enjoyable!

About your tutor

I'm Riccardo and I've passed all four EQE papers at first try in 2021 with paper C being the best one with over 80 marks! Indeed both during the study period and in the exam, I enjoyed paper C the most - to the astonishment of many.

Paper C is like a fun detective game where you need to find the clues that lead you to the right combination of documents - get in the right mindset and it is more than doable.

My plan during the 4 days is to show you how I personally tackled the exams and in particular how to find the clues that may lead you to the right attack(s). 

My wish for the 4 days is to take away a bit of that fear from the paper and demonstrate that it can be quite enjoyable!
