Intensive 3-month D1/M2 study group

Would you like to have an enthusiastic tutor, constant support, motivation and a well-structured study plan during your preparation for Paper D1?

Your knowledgeable, patient, and supportive tutor Ignacio Lobato will be leading a D1 study group for EQE 2026 too! Ignacio passed the EQE in 2022 and has since published several helpful EQE materials, including his popular Paper D guides.

His intensive D1/M2 study group will run on Saturday mornings, from December to February, with 15 meetings over a 13-week period.

The aim of this group is to create a friendly and supportive learning environment, where EQE candidates work through all EPC and PCT topics together by answering and discussing multiple legal questions each week. This group is ideal if you’d like a guided preparation but cannot start studying before December.

Please note that weekly homework is required for participants. Over the course of the group, you’ll work through around 100 legal questions, including four past D1 exams (2022–2025) in the final four meetings.

Course Details:

  • Duration: 6 December 2025 - 28 February 2026 (3 months total)

  • Meeting format: Weekly live Zoom sessions (~120 minutes each)

I started preparing for the EQE main papers after the summer of 2021 and passed the EQE in 2022. For the preparation, I analyzed the format of each paper and wrote summaries accordingly, creating my own methodology. After passing the exams, I wanted to help other candidates with their exam preparation and published a book focused on D-I questions based on my summaries, covering all frequently asked topics, which I have been updating regularly since then. After tutoring one study group for Paper D 2024 and one for Paper D 2025, I am excited to be teaching my third D1 preparation course for EQE 2026.

 

Study plan: This D1 study program will include 11 weeks of discussions of all legal topics (starting with PCT) in a planned way and then 2 weeks with double meetings (10-12:00 CET and 13-15:00 CET): discussions of 4 previous D1 exams.

Method: 7-8 legal questions will be selected each week (from the DeltaPatents Main Exam D book) that you should answer until the next meeting. We will always try to pick different questions within a topic so that we can cover as many different issues as possible. During your weekly online meetings (Saturday mornings) with Ignacio you will discuss the questions and legal topics of the week together. This way, you can also learn from the other candidates. You can also discuss how you can find the answer in the books; what is more, Ignacio will show you how to use his Paper D guide to answer questions a lot quicker.

This study group program includes:

  • 15 online group meetings with Ignacio (held via Zoom), each meeting about 120 minutes long;

  • Discussion of more than 100 legal questions (from the DeltaPatents Main Exam D book and 3 D1 exams in the second part of the program), highlighting frequent mistakes;

  • Discussion of 4 previous D1 exams (2022, 2023, 2024, 2025) in the final 2 weeks;

  • An additional meeting about Unitary patents with Zsofia;

  • Fully online meetings, allowing you to join from anywhere;

  • A copy of the recorded sessions (for the group members only) so that you can rewatch any parts of the meetings in case you cannot join every meeting;

  • Membership in a closed LinkedIn group created exclusively for the members of all D1/M2 study groups.

Of course, if you only have time for half of the questions or if you miss a few meetings, that is completely fine. Everyone has busier periods. The meetings will be always recorded so that you can watch them later.

Please kindly note that this course is only 3 months long and does not include a winter break.

Joining this study group comes at a weekly fee (for natural persons, the fee is invoiced in three parts). Joining the group is only possible for the full period.

Correction of your answers is not included in the fee.
